Women in wellness | Christina Howells

| MAR 8, 2018

In light of International Women's Day, we interviewed some of the most influential and inspirational women working in the wellness industry - and we were spoilt for choice! Christina Howells is a personal trainer and co-founder of thatgirllondon.com. In this article, Christina shares her experience working in the industry over the past 30 years...

What does working in the wellness industry mean to you?

Working in wellness is a lifestyle, it's what I'm passionate about and allows me to share my knowledge with others and help them. It's been my life for 30 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Who are you inspired by & why?

I am constantly inspired by different people at different times. Each day I look around me, I listen, I read and someone somewhere will say or do something that makes me think. It might be their passion, a caring gesture, their work ethic, their positivity, their strength, a ted talk or a book. If we look around us I think we can all find inspiration from somewhere most days.

What tips would you give other women wanting to get into your business?

Study hard and learn more than the basics. knowledge is key and you will be respected for this in the long run. Always remember there is more to learn, stay humble, lose the ego and be willing to listen and learn at every opportunity.

What are your three top tips?

Be consistent. Focus on one thing at a time and become proficient in it rather than jumping around from idea to idea.

Believe in yourself and your vision. This will get you through the obstacles and allow you to see opportunities and remain consistent.

Know that failure and mistakes are stepping stones to success, without them you won't find out everything you need to know to be a success.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

It's an important reminder that gender equality is still far from achieved worldwide and sexual harassment and discrimination are still very much a problem. It's a day to acknowledge what has been done in history and is being done. It's a day to celebrate those fighting worldwide to create gender equality.

We tick all these boxes, and more, so you can relax.

Quality, purity and efficacy in everything we make for you.
