This is hands down my favourite smoothie recipe right now. I love Acai, especially in the summer months as it reminds me of my time spent living in Sydney where it’s a brunch staple. Acai is actually a berry native to Brazil, which is full of antioxidants. These help to repair the damage to the skin caused by free radicals (so they are vital, especially if you are living in a polluted city). This smoothie is pretty filling so I’ll usually have it for breakfast but it can be enjoyed at any time of day.
Ingredients
- 1 frozen unsweetened Acai pack
- ½ frozen banana
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp almond butter
- 1tsp cacao powder
- 1 serving vegan protein powder (I use SunWarrior Chocolate)
- 1 tsp bee pollen (to serve)
Method
Blend all the ingredients (apart from the bee pollen) in a high-speed blender. Serve immediately sprinkled with the bee pollen.
Optional: top with some of your favourite low sugar, high antioxidant fruits.
