Sweat therapy for deeper detoxification

I like to increase the heat in the studio as I'm not a huge fan of air-con when training.  Sweating reduces your fat stores quickly, releasing the body’s toxins through our largest external organ - the skin (think of it as your second kidney). Sweating intensively, a person can lose as much as 3 litres of fluid per hour, making diaphoresis (sweat therapy) very effective for removing toxins from the body.  It also increases blood circulation and promotes immune health.

Detoxification is probably one of the healthiest ways to reduce fat and lose weight.  This is because most toxins like to lodge themselves in fat tissue.  Therefore, if you’re not detoxing effectively, it can make weight loss challenging.  Studies have found that sweating can also improve intelligence and brain function, giving a whole new scope of brain boosting benefits when combined with training.  I told you LDM is intelligent exercise.  Just be sure to drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate; two litres of filtered water to eliminate diuresis (excessive urine productions) as standard.  Increase your intake when temperatures rise and pre/post exercise.  I love coconut, birch, bamboo and maple waters to rehydrate and add electrolytes back into the body.

Have a bath with magnesium salts to help ease bloating.  The minerals absorb quickly into your your bloodstream and help to eliminate toxins.  Magnesium also soothes tired muscles and aids sleep.

Boost circulation further with body brushing or dry skin brushing; sweeping away dead skin cells, stimulating the lymph nodes and assisting the digestive system. Stimulating the lymphatic system is invigorating and helps the body get rid of toxin build up.
